Earworm is a party game for people who LOVE music! Earworm is suited for groups of all shapes and sizes and can be played anywhere! In everything that VStheUNIVERSE produces, a healthy amount of music is infused into its creation. We developed Earworm for the music-lover, the karaoke rockstars, the band geek, the shower singers,...We made this game for ANYONE who loves music. We know you'll love it too!
Players have 30 seconds to vocalize a song to their team using any sound they can muster up with one rule: you can't use any lyrics!

Happy Monday Earybody!
We've got a lot of updates for you today. Overall things are progressing very nicely despite some setbacks. Read on dear rock stars!
The Game Box
We've been working with PrintNinja on designing our game box and were enamored with a new box option that was presented to us. Instead of using a standard two-piece box that many games utilize, we'll be opting for a nice magnetic-close box that brings a bit more character to the game!
Surveys! So Many Surveys!
Surveys for all pledge levels (except for the basic tiers) have been sent out to your inboxes! Folks who pledged for the NEW BAND MATE ($250), I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN ($100), and Get Your Own Theme Song ($125) tiers had surveys sent out on Friday night. If you haven't received a survey, please let us know ASAP so we can look into it!
To those of you who pledged for the NEW BAND MATE tier, please be sure to send in your photos! You still have some time!
Additional Playtesting and Deck Work
We've continued to playtest the game with various groups at different locations. The differences between the KS deck and the final retail version deck will be minimal. We now have *more* variant rules we can share with everyone for a fuller game as well.
Playing with different groups and seeing how people respond to certain rulesets and verbiage continues to be incredibly important and rewarding. We're excited to be able to make the game better because of it.
Our Fulfillment Solution & Shipping
After the campaign ended, we received a bit of bad news: our original fulfillment partner would be unable to ship the game for us, and we'd need to shop around for a new solution. Luckily we've teamed up with eFulfilment Service, a partner of PrintNinja.
By teaming up with eFulfillment, we'll be able to ship the games out with proper tracking and such. The shipping quotes we received from our previous fulfillment partner were slightly lower than eFulfillment's quotes, so each backer can expect to pay $1 extra for shipping for a single order. Order with multiple copies will pay an additional $2, but that amount may get lower as we narrow down our specifics with eFulfillment Service. While we regret the added expense, we think the added value of a better game box plus additional variant rules will make up for it.
Local Pick-Up Party
Do you live in Chicago? We're currently working out a solution so that Chicagoans can pick up the game directly from us. This should eliminate the need for shipping and save local residents some money. More info on this as time progresses.
BackerKit Release
We're finalizing our BackerKit this week. We plan on doing a "smoke test" to make sure all the bells and whistles are working correctly before we distribute surveys to everyone. (Actually, BackerKit calls it a "Smoke Test" but we're inclined to call it a "Sound Check!") You'll have the option to purchase other VtU stuff and additional games at the KS price. We'll be opening the BackerKit for late pledges and pre-orders to others as well.
Expansion Voting
We're nearly done assembling all of the songs from the more recent playtests and the most-voted-on songs from the KS campaign. We anticipate the voting process for the expansion to occur in the next few weeks. We'll be sending out a special update for just that when we're ready to move forward.
One last thing!
Our friends over at Ironrise are in the final hours of their campaign! We've been playtesting their game for the past few years and have fallen in love with it! We encourage you to check it out because it's so so so good!

What's up Earybody?!
Happy May! The VStheUNIVERSE team has hit the ground running since the campaign ended and we're happy to say we have some updates that we're excited to share with you now that the funds have been transferred into our account.
The BackerKit is coming!
Huzzah!
We're assembling our BackerKit and getting everything ready for our backers as we speak! You'll be finalizing your order as well as paying for shipping in BackerKit. If you want to add any additional copies of the game, you'll be able to do so in the BackerKit. We're happy to be working with this company as they've helped thousands of projects across the world and now we're a part of it!
Expansion details!
We're compiling all of the suggestions that people submitted from the campaign, including the KS comments + live playtests and convention appearances. We'll have more details on the voting process for this in the coming weeks.
"I'm Your Biggest Fan" pledge tier backers!
We're in the process of getting all of our demo decks back from different sources like board game shoppes and other game companies. We'll be sending a KS survey soon where we'll collect your address so we can send you your demo decks along with a special message from us.
"New Band Mate" pledge tier backers!
For our new band mates, we'll be sending out a survey before the end of the month (if not sooner) to gather some info from you. We'll take this info and then send it off to our artist so we can get your likeness in the game!
Theme Song tier backers!
If you backed our Geek Show KS campaign then you'll know what to expect here. Theme Song surveys will collect all the necessary info from you so that we can craft your theme song.

Print & Play version!
We're happy that we'll be offering two different Print & Play versions of the game to our backers! We'll be releasing a P&P file that includes all of our demo cards in June, and then releasing a retail-ready P&P with all of the nice art we have at a later date.
Our TENTATIVE timeline!
MAY - Send out surveys + work with our artist to finalize some assets.
JUNE - Finalize character portraits and begin assembling cards for PrintNinja. Conclude voting process for the expansion. First P&P version is released.
JULY - Proofread cards & box art for errors, and work with PrintNinja to assemble P&P files.
AUGUST - GENCON PARTY!
FALL 2018 - Begin production of game in China and await prototype copies for approval. Retail-ready P&P version released.
WINTER - Fulfillment begins!

Final thoughts!
We're still in a state of shock at the amount of support we've gotten for this game! When we hit our goal we were stunned. We couldn't believe that all of our work paid off and that we're now going to be able to release this game that was near and dear to our hearts. The real work begins now, and we're eager to jump in with both feet.
One of our biggest supporters during the campaign was Ironrise Games, and they JUST launched their own tabletop game on Kickstarter yesterday! Please check it out! You may notice some familiar faces on the cards and in the video...

Earworm is funded!
The campaign is over, but the production and logistics aspect has just begun!
What happens now?
Kickstarter will take about two weeks to collect pledges and send the money to us. Once we have those funds we can begin to work on all of the other aspects of the game.
Next week we'll send out some surveys to collect information from our backers so we can do some work on assembling theme songs and character portraits. Once we touch base with our production partners we'll be able to provide a timeline of what to expect in the next few weeks and months as we ramp up production!
Adding games!
A few backers have asked us about adding additional copies to their order. We'll be looking into this and getting back to everyone sometime next week!

Holy cow. With less than 7 hours left we've crossed the finish line! Earworm will become a reality!
